Deadpool (Wade Wilson) is an anecdotal screw-up showing up in American comic books distributed by Marvel Comics. Made by essayist Fabian Nicieza and craftsman/author Rob Liefeld, the character initially showed up in The New Mutants #98 spread dated (Feb. 1991). A former Special Forces operative turned mercenary is subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopting the alter ego Deadpool.
